Japanese tuner Wald Inteational has finally released a preview of their latest Black Bison package, tailored for the BMW’s flagship sedan. The new Wald BMW 7 Series styling package fits both G11 and G12 variants of the 7er which are the short and long wheelbase models respectively.
This generation of the 7er has a unique and angry kind of design which seems to respond well to subtle improvements. But that is just what Wald BMW 7 Series is not, at least in its upcoming version. The tuner has done a diet version of this car which we will get to in a minute. What they are previewing here is a full body kit with completely revised bumpers and skirts and some old-fashioned wheels which make the car look like it’s been customized by a teenager in a video game.
Still, this kind of look might appeal to some people. They may find the Japanese design of the front bumper with its unusual vents and grilles intriguing, and the slammed suspension just the thing to make the car sportier. Before you get too excited about the prospect of driving the all-new BMW X7 Sports Activity Vehicle in teh coming year, we have to point out the first batch is, as the title says, pre-production models. These are basically production cars produced for real-world tests. Thefinal version will be released some time close to the end of 2018.
So there is still about a year to go before you can have this ginormous BMW with its massive grilles and narrow eyes which gives it the look of a mutant sea creature. Mind you, the pre-production BMW X7 is still not final final in terms of design, which is why the test units will be heavily camouflaged as they travel around the world, putting the vehicle’s driving dynamics as well as features and equipment to rigorous test. BMW says they have put together an especially trained team for the testing and production of their full-size SUV.

Before they shut down for the holidays Mazda North American Operations decided to aounce the specs and details of the upgraded 2018 Mazda MX-5 Miata so you can spend your Christmas dreaming about it. You won’t have to wait too long though, as the 2018 Miata goes on sale in early January, priced from $25,295.

During the NIO Day event in China – at Beijing Wukesong Arena, to be precise – the new EV startup aounced the official launch of the NIO ES8 Electric SUV in the Chinese market. This is a very important product, not just because of its excellent specs and details, but also because it is a threat to the biggest EV maker of all, Tesla.
It is only available in China for now, but when NIO ES8 reaches the global market it is going to challenge the authority of Tesla Model X. And since these EV has fairly similar builds, an upcoming mid-size sedan could similarly render the Model 3 rather pointless. The reason for that is very simple: price. The ES8 launches in China for the equivalent of $65,000, thereabouts. In comparison, the cheapest Model X starts at $75,000. Yep, that’s what they’re calling it. The latest WheelsAndMore Nissan GT-R is dubbed Crankzilla. The aging Samurai has been treated by the Germans to a number of refinements that make it better at what it is supposed to do, which is tickle your senses and astonish you with its awesome performance.
Looks-wise, WheelsAndMore Nissan GT-R steers clear of showy body kit, but makes up for it in orange wheels and graphics. The rims WaM has picked for the Crankzilla are a set of 3-piece F.I.W.E models measuring 9.5×21 inches on the front and 11.0×21 inches out back, wrapped with Continental tires in sizes 255/35/21 and 295/30/21 respectively. The wheels’ contribution to the car’s style is further enhanced by height-adjustable lowering springs from KW which drop the ‘Zilla by as much as 30mm.

Just in time for Christmas JLR has aounced an “ultra-versatile” version of the Disco in the UK market. The new 2018 Land Rover Discovery Commercial is the ideal car to carry lots of boxes of presents, or tow a huge Xmas tree. The only problem the car won’t be released until the second quarter of next year.

2018 North American Inteational Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit will see the debut of a new generation of an old green car. The all-new 2019 Honda Insight is all set to pickup where its ancestors left off, and claim a bigger chunk of the hybrid car market for the Japanese company.
Once known as the “Cadillac of Hybrids,” the Insight has a long history dating back to 1999. Some of you may still remember the odd looks of the first-gen model with its covered rear arches. It was an oddball alright, but still looked better than the contemporary Toyota Prius. The new 2019 Honda Insight, though, is not at all odd. Yesterday in Dallas General Motors hosted an all-American event in which they unveiled the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. The revised and refreshed pickup truck was airlifted into the arena amid the cheers of a patriotic crowd who seemed pleased with the vehicle’s aggressive design and improved features.

Two of the hottest Subarus of all time, for being limited editions not particularly for their performance, will hit the market in spring of 2018. They are the Subaru WRX STI Type RA and Subaru BRZ tS, and the company has revealed how much you will have to pay to get one of these unique models of 500 copies each.
The 2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA, which has a lot of street-cred now thanks to an impressive Nurburgring effort, is priced at $48,995 plus $860 for destination and delivery. Among the main highlights that set this baby apart from regular WRXs we have the carbon fiber roof panel, spare tire delete, a carbon fiber pedestal wing and lightweight BBS 19-inch forged alloy wheels. Powering the Type RA is a 310 horsepower version of Subaru’s 2.5-liter turbocharged BOXER engine, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with revised gearing. Although it’s a fairly low-volume sports car, a niche product as it were, the start of production for the all-new 2018 Alpine A110 was celebrated with a high-profile event. It brought Carlos Ghosn, Renault Chairman and CEO, and Bruno Le Maire, France’s Minister of Economy and Finance, down to the production line in Dieppe, which is pretty impressive.
This is not just good news for the company or the french economy or the people employed at the revived plant, but also for those who have been waiting the release of the Alpine A110 for the past five or six years. All the evidence suggest the mode-day A110 is a fantastic sports car and a quality product. It appears to have just the right power for a super enjoyable drive, the perfect chassis, and the right balance between sportiness and everyday practicality. And of course it looks almost as cool as the original.

Whenever there is a new Audi aounced, it is a given that a tricked-out ABT version will follow it. And so here is your 2018 ABT Audi RS3, presenting an upgrade package that fits both the Sportback (hatchback) and Sedan versions of the hot little Ingolstädter.
A single glance at the new ABT Audi RS3 is enough to know it scores very high on the sex appeal index. But the upgrades devised for this car aren’t just cosmetic. Every year we are treated to a whole bunch of new 911 models, but only a handful of them are interesting enough to warrant a close inspection. The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package is certainly one of those, a wing-less, manual version of the GT3 built for purists. Here we take a close look at this superb machine in detailed pictures and videos.
The distinguishing feature of the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package is a variable rear spoiler like the 911 Carrera in place of the regular GT3 large fixed wing. Being a pure sort of 911, the car features a four-litre naturally aspirated engine with 500 horsepower and 460 Nm. Along with the GT3 Touring Package, this year we also got a tighter, lighter version of the Carrera. It’s called the Porsche 911 Carrera T, a badge that harks back 1968, and it promises some old-school fun with features such as less weight, shorter transmission ratios from the manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive with mechanical rear differential lock. Let’s take a deeper look at this cool sports car.
Powering the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera T is a twin turbocharged 3.0 liter flat-six with 370 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. It enables the T to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 290 km/h.while manual gearbox is standard, PDK is available as an option. But 911 T is more about the fun of driving than outright speed, mainly thanks to a shorter rear axle ratio and mechanical differential lock, but also to some serious weight saving. It is not easy explaining to non-car guys why we car guys find these hunks of metal so fascinating. We can go on and on about the joys of driving a good car on a good road, but someone who hasn’t experience it caot visualize and therefore won’t understand it. That’s why it is important that filmmakers making car movies present a correct picture of what true petrolhead-ism is all about. Sadly, though, most of them get it completely wrong.
Now, I could go into details on what is the matter with the established ‘car flick’ recipe, but again, only a true petrolhead would get the picture. So I’m going to let a man who doesn’t particularly like cars explain for other non-car people why most car films these days suck. The new Lamborghini Urus SUV has not received, at least so far, the warm welcome the company was hoping it would. Some don’t like the way it looks. Some aren’t happy with the specs. And to some it is just not extreme enough. If you belong to the latter group, this custom BMW X6M gaished with all sorts of extra goodies may just be what you are after.
Prepared by BMW Abu Dhabi’s tuning arm, this X6M features a full assortment of very high-end aftermarket parts. The way they are put together, too, is something to savour, since the parts match each other nicely and create a whole that does not really look aftermarket. It almost fulls you into thinking it’s come out of the factory wearing all those jewelry and cool clothes. And then, of course, there is the unique shape of the X6M itself which adds to the visual drama brought on by the carbon parts.

Mercedes-Benz UK aounced the official pricing of the new 2018 Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet family. It may seem like odd timing giving the weather right now, but you see they are not taking orders for these bad boys in preparation for the spring 2018 launch. So it’ll all work out. The new S-Cabrio comes out just the weather becomes suitable for alfresco motoring.
So let’s see how much the privilege of enjoying the new 2018 Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet will cost you. The minimum you have to pay to get into one of these is £115,910. That is the price of the “entry-level” S560 model which replaces the S500 and brings with it a new 4.0-litre biturbo V8 petrol engine. You get 469 hp and 700 Nm of torque, a nine-speed automatic gearbox, and 0 to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds. Not that it matters, but average fuel consumption is 31.4 mpg with 204 g/km of CO2.

You know, it seems that the sole purpose of revealing the new McLaren Sea Ultimate Series was to make people eat their heart out. I mean, here’s a super expensive car that nobody could afford anyway, and they tell us they have already sold all 500 production units of it. Not only that, they’ve even auctioned off the very last one for charity.
Now, normally we feel a tinge of jealously wash over us when we hear about this limited edition hypercars. This time though, we’re OK. You can keep your McLaren Sea those 500 who bought one. We don’t know whether it’s the looks or the fact that it’s yet another incredibly fast supercar or blah blah blah. But we just don’t fancy this thing. If we had 750,000 GBP – which is what a Sea has cost its owners – to spare, we would not spend it on this car. Maybe if it looked a little less odd…

Don’t like the new 2019 Mercedes CLS? Want to see it butchered in by Photoshop? Well then you’ve come to the right place! Maybe butchered is not a fair word to use here, seeing as the shooting brake and coupe variants are looking pretty good. But you will agree the CLS pickup and that CLS 63 AMG depicted here are kind of horrendous.
This is not to say that artist has done a bad job. Not at all. Technically, these renderings are top works. It’s just the idea of a Mercedes CLS pickup truck that is revolting and doesn’t make any sense. The same goes for the CLS 63 AMG which, as you may know, is not going to happen. Anf hallelujah to that, if it were going to look like this. The next AMG CLS will be called CLS 53 and it’s a hybrid. So chances are AMG designer will steer clear of their usual tricks and come up with some new elements.
Now for the eye candies… Let’s begin with the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake which is a nice thing to look at on account of its sexy sloping roof. Granted, the front-end is still controversial, but at least with the Shooting Brake one does not have to look at the hideous back end featured on the standard CLS. With the world premiere of the all-new 2019 Mercedes G-Class set for the Detroit Auto Show in January, the German automaker is giving us a Christmas treat. They have released a bunch of photos completely revealing the SUV’s interior design. And it’s a fine blend of old and new, incorporating the current design themes of Mercedes-Benz into the unique shape of the G-Wagen‘s upright dashboard.
To be honest an upgrade to the big G’s cabin was long overdue. They did give it a new steering or a fancy screen now and then, but the overhaul that comes with the 2019 Mercedes G-Class is a real improvement in terms of design and ergonomics. There is more space in the new cabin, more luxury and comfort features, and fewer sharp edges that could seriously hurt you in the event of an accident. The main highlights include a new dashboard, instrument panel and center console in line with other Mercedes products of this era, plus new steering wheel, infotainment screen and seats.

Not that we were expecting some revolutionary new design or some extraordinary feature. But the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta does not appear to different enough from the existing model to justify the title of ‘new’. In faiess though, they seem to have tried to include some of the design cues from the sexy Arteon into the Jetta, especially around the front and rear fascia. That means even though the standard model may not be very exciting, there is hope still for the R-version and other possible high performance variants to address the issue with sportier cues and more aggressive features.

Italian car makers have a deep and fruitful relationship with the country’s top fashion brands. And so with the launch of every new model they present a new line of products inspired by that model. Here’s what Lamborghini Urus fans will be able to get to show they love the car, even if they can’t afford it.
The Collezione Automobili Lamborghini Urus Super SUV collection, as they call this selection of clothes and accessories, is created in collaboration with Enzo Bonafè, Hettabretz and Tecknomonster. From Bonafè you get two super-comfortable moccasins, hand made and offered in three different colors. Hettabretz presents an exquisite customizable suede jacket, available in a limited run of just 30 pieces. The fact that it is extremely hard to improve an electric car has not stopped aftermarket specialists from trying. Here you see the Novitec Tesla Model S, a European take on the highly celebrated American EV, and it boasts a number of key upgrades that make the ownership experience of the car more satisfying.
On the styling front Novitec Tesla Model S is given a light treatment in form of some carbon fiber components that do more for the aerodynamics of the car than its looks. The package include front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser, plus a neat boot spoiler. Because they are made of naked carbon, they look their best on a white car. For all the mystery surrounding the nature of the first McLaren Ultimate Series, the car was unveiled rather unceremoniously at midnight last night. And, well, it’s named after a dead man. But what a man! The all-new McLaren Sea is the “ultimate” car in every way, offering unrivaled performance on both road and track.
At least that is the pitch. The spec sheet is not particularly overwhelming. McLaren Sea has only 800PS (789bhp) and 800Nm (590 lb ft) to play with, which by the standards of today’s hypercars is not that impressive. But this thing is a racer at heart, and as such it does not rely entirely on power for speed. The Sea puts a premium on lightness, focused and sophisticated chassis, and advanced electronics. That is why it could potentially beat all the other hypercars, and some race cars, at a circuit race. Think of this car as the ultimate 720S.

You were driving the kids to school that moing when you heard a sharp Whack in front of you. The new Mazda MX-5 Z-Sport is a limited edition of just 300 units for the United Kingdom. It boasts not just special exterior and interior appointments, but also the best engine Mazda has to offer for this car.
And it starts at £25,595. There is a lot of value packed in the Mazda MX-5 Z-Sport, begiing with the 2.0 liter SKYACTIV-G which produces 160 horsepower. We really did not think that something like the Maybach G650 Landaulet could possibly have a rival, but we were wrong. In our defense that is such a niche vehicle, no one would be inclined to invest in making such a thing… no one except the eccentric visionary Afzal Kahn, it tus out. He has just teased the Kahn Flying Huntsman 6×6 Soft Top which is a direct attempt at the Landaulet’s life.
On the face of it comparing a wonky Land Rover, which is what Kahn Flying Huntsman 6×6 Soft Top is based on, to the unique Mercedes G-Class, which is what the Maybach G650 is based on, seems idiotic. Of course the Mercedes is a superior product. But you see, the Hunstman is no ordinary Land Rover. It is a completely bespoke car, every part of which is improved and when necessary redesigned from scratch by Kahn artisans. Granted, it still may not be as spacious or as comfortable as the big G, but calling it just as classy and luxurious is not stretching the truth.

When one talks of robotics in the context of automobile production, one invariably thinks of the ungainly metal arms busily swinging from side to side on the assembly line, welding and bolting and putting bits of a car together. But there is an other side to the relationship between car makers and the field of robotics, one that is much more sophisticated and, at least for now, entirely Japanese.
If you have been to one of those big technology shows such as CES in Las Vegas, you have noticed that while some of the big European auto brands tu up with a new infotainment system they are way too proud of, the Japanese manufacturers, namely Honda and Toyota, quietly wow the crowd with their humanoid robots, capable of walking and talking and interacting with people. Now, one might wonder why should a car maker care about humanoid robots, or the this aspect of the robotic sciences, at all. And that is the question here. Why are Honda and Toyota investing so much in these things and keep coming up with ever more sophisticated, ever more human-like, machines? And are other car makers missing out not taking part?

Jut as the resurrected Alpine A110 gears up to hit the market with the Premiere Edition news emerges that there is an even more awesome version of the sports car in the works. It’s called Alpine A110 Sport and as befits that name it is lighter, tighter, and more powerful.
Wheres the regular A110 is a sports car for every opportunity, in that it is a brilliant all-rounder, the upcoming Alpine A110 Sport will be more focused on speed and performance. Code-named ‘Sport chassis’ at Alpine, the car will get a tweaked version of the 1.8 liter turbo four-pot that powers the standard model with 300 horsepower. It should, in theory, enables the Sport to make 60 mph from standing still in about four seconds.

It remains to be seen how Alpine engineers are going to achieve their goal of lightening the already featherweight A110. The word is they want to slash another 50 kg off the dry weight of the A110, mostly by taking away interior trim and gaish. They will also stifen the suspension by about 20 percent.
